Diploma of Ministry Studies

The course offers opportunity for students to begin preparing for evangelical/charismatic Christian ministry and leadership, and prepares students for ancillary ministry and vocational roles, which require the integrating of biblical and theological knowledge with the practice of ministry.

The Diploma of Ministry Studies is a one year full time course or equivalent structured to accommodate a range of students who desire initial studies at degree level as preparation for either further study in other courses or as a foundation for their ministry calling. It is the first year of the Bachelor of Ministry.

Graduates of the course may be employed in positions such as senior pastors, associate pastors, children’s pastors, youth pastors, worship pastors and missionaries within COC, as well in various church or para-church ministries.
Graduates are also prepared for further studies in ministry.

Diploma of Ministry - Social Justice

The Diploma of Ministry - Social Justice is designed to give opportunity for people to begin preparing for evangelical/charismatic Christian ministry in social justice and leadership. It provides initial studies at degree level as foundational for those students who believe they have a ministry calling within the area of social justice, or as a preparation for further study.

The course introduces students to a theology of social justice as well as strategies for social change. A better understanding of the interrelationship between theology and practice will be developed, as well as the ability to critically reflect upon our roles in furthering the goal of social justice both in the church and in the wider community.

The Diploma of Ministry - Social Justice prepares graduates to pursue careers in areas such as non-Government organisations (NGOs), human rights organisations, church-based social justice organisations or departments, overseas aid agencies, social welfare, community service-learning organisations, and businesses with a strong ethical focus.

Bachelor of Ministry

This Innovative degree program provides opportunity for people to prepare for ministry and leadership, within the context of a local church and wider community. It provides a professional education and appropriate qualifications for those involved in, or preparing for Christian ministry and service.

This degree program requires students to complete 24 units of study each carrying 10 credit points. The normal full time study load is four units of study per semester.

The course is structured around three fields of study:

• FIELD A Ministry Foundations
• FIELD B Ministry Formations
• FIELD C Ministry Practice

In addition to course work units, students will be involved in practicum’s which provide opportunity to gain experience in the practice of ministry in a variety of contexts.

Current graduates serve as senior pastors, associate pastors, children’s pastors, youth pastors, worship pastors, missionaries, Bible translators, school and sports chaplains, youth workers, lecturers of diploma-level units in higher education ministry courses and leaders in various church and para-church ministries.
Graduates are able to apply to various denominational bodies for ordination.

Graduate Certificate in Ministry Studies

The Graduate Certificate in Ministry Studies requires students to complete 4 units of study each carrying 10 credit points.

Graduates who have completed this course have been employed in leadership positions in church and parachurch organisations and in wider society. Such positions have included pastors, missionaries and chaplains.

Graduate Diploma in Ministry Studies

This innovative graduate diploma provides foundational studies in ministry at graduate level. This is a fully accredited program that provides opportunity for students with previous academic studies at bachelor level (or equivalent) in other fields of study.

The Graduate Diploma includes and builds on the Graduate Certificate in Ministry Studies with students required to complete a further 4 units of study per semester.

The majority of those who have completed this award have done so to receive a qualification in Ministry Studies for application to other professional fields, such as teaching and law.

Master of Ministry Leadership

The Master of Ministry Leadership is a degree specifically designed for Senior, Executive and Departmental leaders of:

• Churches,
• Christian Schools and Colleges,
• Not-for-Profit Ministries
• and Christian professionals including Doctors, Lawyers, Barristers, Nurses, Youth Workers, Community Service Personal who see their profession as their ministry.

While ministry leaders usually undergird their ministry roles with a biblical and theological knowledge base, they ten to undergird their organisational responsibilities with largely secular management theories and principles.

Citipointe Ministry College believes that the ministry leader is divinely called by God and the ministry organisation, itself, is also divinely appointed and commissioned. As such, God desires His ministry leaders to 'co-mission' together with Him in leading, directing and managing their ministry organisations within society.

The Master of Ministry Leadership therefore endeavours to assist ministry leaders in developing a commissional model for leadership where they seek God to guide and resource both the ministry and organisational aspects of their vocation. The course will also seek to fully develop the skills and abilities required for leadership within Christian organisations in a contemporary world based upon an integrative biblical and theological foundation, together with other forms of research into leadership and organisational behaviour.

All ministry professionals are provided the opportunity to engage in and demonstrate the higher order skills of analysis, critical evaluation and reflection, and to apply these constructs to various pieces of scholarship, or through planning and executing work-based projects.

The Master of Ministry Leadership consists of a total of 8 units required for completion over a minimum 4 year period.

Certificate IV in Christian Ministry & Theology

The Certificate IV in Christian Ministry & Theology (30772QLD) is a course that has ministry at its heart. With core areas such as biblical foundations, personal and ministry formation as well as basic leadership, it is designed to help equip you to discover and fulfill God’s call, and is a real asset to the local church. The Certificate is designed to be taught using experiential learning methods and is a very practical learning tool.

Diploma in Christian Ministry & Theology

The Diploma in Christian Ministry (30773QLD) is a course that will allow you to immediately apply what you are learning to your life and ministry. It is designed to further develop your ministry skills, and give you maximum practical opportunities. The Diploma will equip you to be a real asset to the local church.
